Below you can find a list of different activities you can do around PAN Village. Whatever you like, the choice is yours. All activities are operated by our local partners, we are happy to help you to find your perfect winter and summer activity.
Winter activities
Go on a husky safari, varying from one hour to whole a day program, and let those sturdy dogs pull your sleigh through the spellbinding white world.
You can also lend a helping hand feeding the reindeer and go by sleigh through the beautiful pine forest to the feeding place where you come very close to them. You can actually touch them and feed them while the guide tells you their names and explains how they live in the park.
Is something special as well. You will get the necessary instructions before you go on the snowshoeing tour with your guide. A special prepared beautiful trail takes you through the forest. The trip takes you to a spectacular ice wall, that is built up by constantly dripping ice water. It is a natural phenomenon, so do not forget to bring your camera! On this tour you are also learn how to catch a fish by ice-hole-fishing. Later on your guide prepare a traditional Lappish lunch of reindeer burgers and coffee around a camp fire.
Have you always wanted to know how Father Christmas, or Santa Claus, travels? Well, get into the sleigh and go on a reindeer tour, a unique experience that you would not miss for the world.
Do you want to feel the speed of a reindeer? Come and try the reindeer race. Do not be scared we have for you fast reindeer’s or lazy reindeer’s. The choice is yours, how you like.
You always want to drive by a snowmobile? Hop on and drive with your guide through the snowy Forrest and beautiful landscape. There are different kind of tours starting from 2hrs up to the whole day.
Yes we have also a place where you can downhill skiing. Our slopes are empty and not full with people like in the Alps! Here skiing makes fun. Read here more about it.
Finland is a paradise for cross-country skiier, find here perfect prepared tracks. Around PAN Village are 160km, of which 43km are illuminated and 34km are trekking trails.
Summer activities
Starting by yourself. When you are tired of walking you can set out to explore the area on bike.
Go together with Salla Reindeer Park guide and see the Husky Dogs. Your guide will explain you how to work with dogs and give you also a lot of back ground information.
Close by PAN Village you can rent a Bike. You can rent Citybikes, Mountainbikes and E-Bikes.
A qualified guide takes you to a lake close by PAN Village. He provides you with a personal flotation device and other accessories and then goes over the route with you. The Lake is easy to navigate for a canoeist. While paddling down the lake, you enjoy the shines from the midnight sun.
After you have purchased the fishing license. You can go by your self and try to catch some fishes. More information about license you find from here.
